Four forces are acting at a point $P$ in equilibrium as shown in figure. The ratio of force $F_1$ to $F_2$ is $1 : x$ where $x$ = ______.

Answer: 3
Resolve along $x$ and $y$:
$x$: $F_1 + 1\cos45^\circ - 2\cos45^\circ = 0\Rightarrow F_1 = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt2}\ \text{N}$.
$y$: $1\sin45^\circ + 2\sin45^\circ - F_2 = 0\Rightarrow F_2 = \dfrac{3}{\sqrt2}\ \text{N}$.
$F_1 : F_2 = 1 : 3$, so $x = 3$.
