Q 11-02-130JEE MainJEE Main 2017 (2 Apr)Easy
A body is thrown vertically upwards. Which one of the following graphs correctly represents the velocity $v$ vs time $t$?
Answer: (D) see figure
Take upwards as positive. After the throw the only acceleration is $-g$, constant, so
$$v = u - gt$$
The graph is a single straight line with negative slope: it starts at $+u$, crosses zero at the top of the flight and continues to negative values while the body falls. This is graph (4).
