Refer to the figure given below, current between terminals $A$ and $B$ is ______ A.
Answer: (B) $1.25$
Each of the top three rows has three $5$ V cells (all the same way round) and three $3\ \Omega$ resistors: emf $15$ V, resistance $9\ \Omega$. The three rows are in parallel between the two side rails, so together they act as a $15$ V source with $3\ \Omega$ internal resistance.
The bottom row from $A$ to $B$ ($3 \times 3 = 9\ \Omega$) is the load:
$$I = \frac{15}{3 + 9} = 1.25\ \text{A}$$
