The resistivity of a wire is $1.7 \times 10^{-8}\ \Omega$ m. Find the resistance, in ohm, of $100$ m of it with cross-section $1\ \text{mm}^2$.

Answer: 1.7
$R = \dfrac{\rho L}{A} = \dfrac{1.7 \times 10^{-8} \times 100}{10^{-6}} = 1.7\ \Omega$.
