Q 11-05-113JEE MainJEE Main 2023 (8 Apr, Shift 2)Easy
A body of mass $5$ kg is moving with a momentum of $10\ \text{kg m s}^{-1}$. Now a force of $2$ N acts on the body in the direction of its motion for $5$ s. The increase in the kinetic energy of the body is ______ J.
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 30
Impulse $=10\ \text{N s}$, so $p$ becomes $20\ \text{kg m s}^{-1}$.
$$\Delta K=\frac{20^2-10^2}{2\times5}=30\ \text{J}$$
