Match List-I with List-II.
**List-I**
A. Pressure varies inversely with volume of an ideal gas.
B. Heat absorbed goes partly to increase internal energy and partly to do work.
C. Heat is neither absorbed nor released by a system.
D. No work is done on or by a gas.
**List-II**
I. Adiabatic process
II. Isochoric process
III. Isothermal process
IV. Isobaric process
Choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer: (A) A-III, B-IV, C-I, D-II
- A: $PV = \text{constant}$ at constant temperature: isothermal (III).
- B: In an isobaric process $Q = \Delta U + P\Delta V$, with both terms non-zero: isobaric (IV). (In an isothermal process all the heat goes into work, and in an isochoric process all of it goes into internal energy.)
- C: $Q = 0$: adiabatic (I).
- D: $W = 0$ means no volume change: isochoric (II).
A-III, B-IV, C-I, D-II.
