Q 11-13-075JEE MainJEE Main 2023 (25 Jan, Shift 2)Medium
A particle executes simple harmonic motion between $x=-A$ and $x=+A$. If time taken by particle to go from $x=0$ to $\dfrac A2$ is $2$ s, then time taken by particle in going from $x=\dfrac A2$ to $A$ is
Answer: (D) 4 s
$x=A\sin\omega t$: from $0$ to $\dfrac A2$ the phase changes by $\dfrac\pi6$, i.e. $\dfrac T{12}=2\ \text{s}$, so $T=24\ \text{s}$.
From $\dfrac A2$ to $A$ the phase changes from $\dfrac\pi6$ to $\dfrac\pi2$, i.e. $\dfrac T6=4\ \text{s}$.
