A light ray falls on a glass surface of refractive index $\sqrt{3}$, at an angle $60°$. The angle between the refracted and reflected rays would be
Answer: (D) $90°$
$\tan 60° = \sqrt{3} = \mu$, so $60°$ is the Brewster angle for this glass.
Snell's law: $\sin 60° = \sqrt{3}\sin r \Rightarrow \sin r = \dfrac{1}{2}$, $r = 30°$.
The reflected ray makes $60°$ with the normal, the refracted ray $30°$ on the other side, so the angle between them is $180° - 60° - 30° = 90°$.
