Q 11-11-063JEE MainJEE Main 2024 (5 Apr, Shift 1)Medium
The heat absorbed by a system in going through the cyclic process shown (pressure in kPa, volume in cc) is
Answer: (B) $61.6\ \text{J}$
In a cycle $\Delta U = 0$, so the heat absorbed equals the work done, which is the area enclosed.
The circle has a radius of $\dfrac{340 - 60}{2} = 140$ units on each axis:
$$W = \pi\times(140\ \text{kPa})\times(140\ \text{cc}) = \pi\times140\times10^3\times140\times10^{-6}\ \text{J} \approx 61.6\ \text{J}$$
