A diatomic gas $(\gamma = 1.4)$ does $200\ \text{J}$ of work when it is expanded isobarically. The heat given to the gas in the process is
Answer: (D) $700\ \text{J}$
For an isobaric process $W = nR\Delta T$ and $Q = nC_P\Delta T$:
$$Q = W\frac{C_P}{R} = W\frac{\gamma}{\gamma - 1} = 200\times\frac{1.4}{0.4} = 700\ \text{J}$$
