Q 11-06-136JEE MainJEE Main 2022 (25 Jul, Shift 2)Easy
Three identical spheres each of mass $M$ are placed at the corners of a right angled triangle with mutually perpendicular sides equal to $3\ \text{m}$ each. Taking the point of intersection of the mutually perpendicular sides as origin, the magnitude of position vector of the centre of mass of the system will be $\sqrt x\ \text{m}$. The value of $x$ is ______.
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 2
Masses at $(0,0)$, $(3,0)$, $(0,3)$: centre of mass $= (1, 1)$, so $|\vec r| = \sqrt2\ \text{m}$ and $x = 2$.
