The reading of the ammeter for a silicon diode in the given circuit is:
Answer: (D) $11.5$ mA
The diode is forward biased. A silicon diode drops about $0.7$ V when conducting, so
$$I = \frac{3 - 0.7}{200} = \frac{2.3}{200} = 11.5\ \text{mA}$$
