Answer: (D) $\dfrac{A}{\sqrt{2}}$
$U = \dfrac{1}{2}kx^2$ and $K = \dfrac{1}{2}k(A^2 - x^2)$. Setting them equal: $x^2 = A^2 - x^2 \Rightarrow x = \dfrac{A}{\sqrt{2}}$.
