Answer: (A) $12:1$
$\Delta L=\dfrac{FL}{AY}\propto\dfrac{1}{AY}$: $\dfrac{\Delta L_A}{\Delta L_B}=\dfrac{A_BY_B}{A_AY_A}=3\times4=12:1$.
