A heavy box of mass $50\ \text{kg}$ is moving on a horizontal surface. If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and the horizontal surface is $0.3$, then the force of kinetic friction is (take $g = 9.8\ \text{m s}^{-2}$)
Answer: (B) $147\ \text{N}$
$f_k = \mu_k mg = 0.3\times50\times9.8 = 147\ \text{N}$.
