A block is released from rest on a smooth inclined plane as shown. Find the magnitude of its acceleration along the incline in $\text{m/s}^2$. (Take $g = 10\ \text{m/s}^2$.)

On a smooth incline the only force along the slope is the component of gravity, $mg\sin\theta$.
$$a = g\sin 30^\circ = 10 \times \tfrac12 = 5\ \text{m/s}^2$$
