Two satellites, A and B, have masses $m$ and $2m$ respectively. A is in a circular orbit of radius $R$ and B is in a circular orbit of radius $2R$ around the earth. The ratio of their kinetic energies, $\dfrac{K_A}{K_B}$, is:
Answer: (C) $1$
For a circular orbit $K = \dfrac{GMm}{2r}$.
$$\frac{K_A}{K_B} = \frac{m/R}{2m/2R} = 1$$
