Given below are two statements:
**Statement I:** Electromagnetic waves are not deflected by electric and magnetic field.
**Statement II:** The amplitude of electric field and the magnetic field in electromagnetic waves are related to each other as $E_0=\sqrt{\dfrac{\mu_0}{\varepsilon_0}}B_0$.
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer: (A) Statement I is true but statement II is false
EM waves carry no charge, so electric and magnetic fields do not deflect them: Statement I is true.
The correct relation is $E_0=cB_0=\dfrac{B_0}{\sqrt{\mu_0\varepsilon_0}}$, not $\sqrt{\mu_0/\varepsilon_0}\,B_0$. Statement II is false.
