Q 12-03-159JEE MainJEE Main 2022 (24 Jun, Shift 2)Easy
What will be the most suitable combination of three resistors $A = 2\ \Omega$, $B = 4\ \Omega$, $C = 6\ \Omega$ so that $\left(\dfrac{22}{3}\right)\Omega$ is the equivalent resistance of the combination?
Answer: (B) Parallel combination of $A$ and $B$ connected in series with $C$
$A\parallel B = \dfrac{2\times4}{6} = \dfrac43\ \Omega$; in series with $C$: $\dfrac43 + 6 = \dfrac{22}{3}\ \Omega$.
(Check the others: option 1 gives $1.5 + 4 = 5.5\ \Omega$, option 3 gives $\frac{8\times4}{12} = \frac83\ \Omega$, option 4 gives $\frac{10\times2}{12} = \frac53\ \Omega$.)
