Answer: (C) A classical atom based on Rutherford's model is doomed to collapse.
In Rutherford's model an orbiting electron is accelerated, so by classical electromagnetism it radiates energy continuously and spirals into the nucleus: the classical atom would collapse.
The other statements are wrong: Thomson's electrons sit in stable equilibrium (not Rutherford's), Rutherford's mass distribution is highly concentrated (not continuous), and in both models the positive part carries most of the mass.
