The primary side of a transformer is connected to a $230\ \text{V}$, $50\ \text{Hz}$ supply. The turns ratio of primary to secondary winding is $10:1$. Load resistance connected to the secondary side is $46\ \Omega$. The power consumed in it is:
Answer: (C) $11.5\ \text{W}$
$$V_s = V_p\frac{N_s}{N_p} = \frac{230}{10} = 23\ \text{V}$$
$$P = \frac{V_s^2}{R} = \frac{23^2}{46} = 11.5\ \text{W}$$
