Q 11-01-150JEE MainJEE Main 2022 (24 Jun, Shift 1)Easy
Identify the pair of physical quantities which have different dimensions:
Answer: (D) Specific heat capacity and Latent heat
Wave number and Rydberg's constant both have dimensions $[\text{L}^{-1}]$.
Stress and coefficient of elasticity are both force per area, $[\text{M}\text{L}^{-1}\text{T}^{-2}]$.
Coercivity and magnetisation are both measured in $\text{A m}^{-1}$.
Specific heat capacity is $\text{J kg}^{-1}\text{K}^{-1}$, i.e. $[\text{L}^2\text{T}^{-2}\text{K}^{-1}]$, while latent heat is $\text{J kg}^{-1}$, i.e. $[\text{L}^2\text{T}^{-2}]$. These differ.
