Q 11-11-150JEE MainJEE Main 2019 (10 Apr, Shift 1)Easy
$n$ moles of an ideal gas with constant volume heat capacity $C_V$ undergo an isobaric expansion by certain volume. The ratio of the work done in the process, to the heat supplied is:
Answer: (C) $\dfrac{nR}{C_V+nR}$
Here $C_V$ is the heat capacity of the whole sample, so at constant pressure the heat capacity is $C_V + nR$.
$$W = P\Delta V = nR\Delta T,\qquad Q = (C_V + nR)\Delta T$$
$$\frac WQ = \frac{nR}{C_V + nR}$$
