Q 12-14-170JEE MainJEE Main 2020 (2 Sep, Shift 2)Medium
In the following digital circuit, what will be the output $Z$, when the input $(A, B)$ are $(1, 0)$, $(0, 0)$, $(1, 1)$, $(0, 1)$?
Answer: (A) $0, 0, 1, 0$
The first gates give $P = \overline{AB}$ (NAND) and $Q = A + B$ (OR). The AND gate gives $P\cdot Q = A \oplus B$. The output NOR gate gives $Z = \overline{P + A\oplus B}$.
$(1,0)$: $P = 1 \Rightarrow Z = 0$. $(0,0)$: $P = 1 \Rightarrow Z = 0$. $(1,1)$: $P = 0$, $A\oplus B = 0 \Rightarrow Z = 1$. $(0,1)$: $P = 1 \Rightarrow Z = 0$.
Output: $0, 0, 1, 0$.
