The R.M.S. speeds of the molecules of Hydrogen, Oxygen, and Carbon dioxide at the same temperature are $v_H$, $v_O$ and $v_C$ respectively, then:
Answer: (C) $v_H > v_O > v_C$
$v_{rms} = \sqrt{\dfrac{3RT}{M}}$, so at the same temperature $v_{rms} \propto \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{M}}$.
$M$: H$_2$ (2) $<$ O$_2$ (32) $<$ CO$_2$ (44), so $v_H > v_O > v_C$.
