If the R.M.S. speed of oxygen molecules at $0^\circ$C is $160$ m s$^{-1}$. Find the R.M.S. speed of hydrogen molecules at $0^\circ$C.
Answer: (C) $640$ m s$^{-1}$
$v_{rms} \propto \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{M}}$ at the same temperature:
$$v_H = 160\sqrt{\frac{32}{2}} = 160\times4 = 640\ \text{m s}^{-1}$$
