A gas of certain mass filled in a closed cylinder at a pressure of 3.23 kPa has temperature $50^\circ\text{C}$. The gas is now heated to double its temperature. The modified pressure is ______ Pa .
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 6460
The volume is fixed, so $P\propto T$ (absolute temperature).
Doubling the absolute temperature ($323$ K → $646$ K):
$$P' = 2\times3.23\ \text{kPa} = 6460\ \text{Pa}$$
(If "double its temperature" is read as $50^\circ$C → $100^\circ$C, then $P' = 3230\times\dfrac{373}{323} = 3730$ Pa. The official key accepted both 3730 and 6460.)
