Label the junctions along the line. The top wire joins $A$ to the junction after the second capacitor, and the bottom wire joins the junction between the first two capacitors to the junction after the third. So the first three capacitors all sit between the same two nodes: they are in parallel, giving $24\ \mu\text{F}$.
The fourth and fifth capacitors have both ends joined by the second top wire, so they are shorted and carry no charge.
The remaining $8\ \mu\text{F}$ is in series with the $24\ \mu\text{F}$:
$$C_{AB} = \frac{24\times8}{24+8} = 6\ \mu\text{F}$$
