In the given circuit, the equivalent resistance between the terminals $A$ and $B$ is ______ $\Omega$.

Answer: 10
The plain vertical wire joins the top and bottom rails, so everything to its right (the two $4\ \Omega$ resistors and the end wire) carries no current, and the second vertical $2\ \Omega$ resistor has both ends on the same node, so it is shorted out.
What remains: $3\ \Omega$, then the top $2\ \Omega$ in parallel with the first vertical $2\ \Omega$ ($=1\ \Omega$), then $6\ \Omega$:
$$R_{AB}=3+1+6=10\ \Omega$$
