Of the two falling curves, the slope of an adiabatic ($-\gamma\dfrac{P}{V}$) is $\gamma$ times the slope of an isothermal ($-\dfrac{P}{V}$) at the same point. So the adiabatic falls more steeply and lies below the isothermal on expansion.
Curve 3 is isothermal and curve 2 is adiabatic.
