Q 11-06-033NEETJEE MainMedium
A solid cylinder rolls without slipping down an incline of angle $30°$. Its acceleration is ($g = 10\ \text{m/s}^2$)
Answer: (C) $\dfrac{10}{3}\ \text{m/s}^2$
For rolling, $a = \dfrac{g\sin\theta}{1 + k^2/R^2}$. For a solid cylinder $\dfrac{k^2}{R^2} = \dfrac{1}{2}$:
$$a = \frac{10 \times 0.5}{1.5} = \frac{10}{3}\ \text{m/s}^2$$
