Q 12-14-151JEE MainJEE Main 2021 (26 Feb, Shift 1)Easy
The circuit contains two diodes each with a forward resistance of $50\ \Omega$ and with infinite reverse resistance. If the battery voltage is $6$ V, the current through the $120\ \Omega$ resistance is ______ mA
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 20
$D_1$ is forward biased and $D_2$ is reverse biased (infinite resistance), so the $100\ \Omega$ branch carries no current.
The circuit is a single loop: $50 + 130 + 120 = 300\ \Omega$.
$$I = \frac{6}{300} = 0.02\ \text{A} = 20\ \text{mA}$$
