A mixture of one mole of monoatomic gas and one mole of a diatomic gas (rigid) are kept at room temperature ($27\,^\circ\text{C}$). The ratio of specific heat of gases at constant volume respectively is:
Answer: (B) $\dfrac35$
Molar specific heats at constant volume:
Monoatomic gas (3 degrees of freedom): $C_{v1} = \dfrac32R$
Rigid diatomic gas (5 degrees of freedom): $C_{v2} = \dfrac52R$
$$\frac{C_{v1}}{C_{v2}} = \frac{3/2}{5/2} = \frac35$$
