Q 12-06-048JEE MainJEE Main 2024 (4 Apr, Shift 2)Easy
A rod of length $60\ \text{cm}$ rotates with a uniform angular velocity of $20\ \text{rad s}^{-1}$ about its perpendicular bisector, in a uniform magnetic field of $0.5\ \text{T}$. The direction of the magnetic field is parallel to the axis of rotation. The potential difference between the two ends of the rod is ______ V.
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 0
Each half of the rod develops an emf $\dfrac12B\omega\left(\dfrac{l}{2}\right)^2$ between the centre and its end, in the same sense (centre to end). So both ends are at the same potential and the potential difference between them is $0\ \text{V}$.
