Q 12-03-231JEE MainJEE Main 2020 (2 Sep, Shift 1)Easy
Consider four conducting materials copper, tungsten, mercury and aluminium with resistivity $\rho_C$, $\rho_T$, $\rho_M$ and $\rho_A$ respectively. Then:
Answer: (B) $\rho_M > \rho_A > \rho_C$
Approximate room-temperature resistivities (in $\Omega\,\text{m}$): copper $1.7\times10^{-8}$, aluminium $2.7\times10^{-8}$, tungsten $5.6\times10^{-8}$, mercury $98\times10^{-8}$.
So $\rho_M > \rho_T > \rho_A > \rho_C$, and only $\rho_M > \rho_A > \rho_C$ is correct.
