Q 12-03-181JEE MainJEE Main 2022 (27 Jul, Shift 1)Easy
In meter bridge experiment for measuring unknown resistance $S$, the unknown resistance $S$ is in the left gap and $R$ in the right gap. The null point is obtained at a distance $30$ cm from the left side, at point $D$. If $R$ is $5.6\ \text{k}\Omega$, then the value of unknown resistance $S$ will be ______ $\Omega$.
Numerical value type. Enter your answer.
Answer: 2400
At balance,
$$\frac{S}{R} = \frac{l}{100 - l} = \frac{30}{70}$$
$$S = 5600\times\frac37 = 2400\ \Omega$$
