The two cells have their positive terminals facing each other at E, so they oppose. The $10$ V cell wins, and the net emf is $10 - 5 = 5$ V.
Total resistance: $2 + 1 + 7 = 10\ \Omega$.
$$I = \frac{5}{10} = 0.5\ \text{A}$$
The $10$ V cell drives current out of its positive terminal towards E, i.e. from A to B through E.
